The techniques are trained to be effective under the effects of stress and exhaustion, the same conditions that happen in an attack. You will learn very efficient and aggressive counter defenses. It takes instinctive motions and modifies them with aggression. Emphasis is on the defense.

You will get in shape fast because the class runs at a fast pace. We go hard in class because the the defensive tactics must work when we are at our worst, under stress and exhaustion. So a really cool byproduct of the class is that you will burn some serious calories. The class is uptempo and works cardiovascular health, anaerobic conditioning, muscular strength, and endurance. It does not matter what kind of shape you are in to begin, we will improve it from where you are. We have beginners start all the time!

Philosophy of Krav Maga

This is not a technique based system like most martial arts. We do not teach 1000 different ways to do one thing. Basically, if it works then we teach it. This means that it takes less time to learn, is easier to perform, and is easier to remember. The techniques that we teach must work when at a big size disadvantage, as in it must work for a 100 pound woman that has to defend herself from a 200 pound man. There are no rules in Krav Maga except do what it takes to stay safe.

Stay Safe

  1. Do not be there. Stay away from dangerous places and situations.
  2. Run. If you find yourself in danger, get out of there as quickly as possible.
  3. Pick up something to use as a weapon.
  4. Destroy the attacker if there is no option of escape.
