Fall Retreat: September 19-21

Date July 31, 2008

Impact’s Fall Retreat will be September 19-21, 2008 at Camp Buckner.  Registration is now open. Register online or in person at our registration table in Impact Sunday morning. Early bird rates apply until midnight September 1st ($100 cabin, $125 chateau).

Fall retreat will be a time of fellowship, spiritual reflection and rejuvenation. In the Bible, Jesus went to a mountain top, looked at the city and wept. It’s time for us to do the same (perhaps not the weeping part), but to get away from the fray and look at the city through a fresh lens. Where is our place in the city? What can we do for the city? How can we go into our places of work, neighborhoods and communities and find our place of influence? We hope this will be a time of spiritual reflection, looking outward at our city as we continue moving towards our mission.

We’re excited to have Gabe Gilliam, the Teaching Pastor at Fellowship Dallas Bible Church as our speaker this year. Gabe lives in Dallas with his beautiful bride of 5 years, Casey and his ferocious dog, Bauer. He is obsessed with God’s Word, the Mavericks, good BBQ, and wasting time on Facebook.

UnChristian: Sunday Morning Series

Date July 2, 2008

In Impact, we will look at a recent “report card” on what young non-Christians think of Christianity from a book called “UnChristian.” We will discuss the descriptions that were used about Christians such as insensitive, judgmental, and hypocritical. In light of that, we will talk about how to live in order to hopefully reconcile that view. Visit http://www.unchristian.com/ for more info.
